It will be a packed house as more than 100 Maine employers, colleges, trade schools, and military representatives have signed on to help Windham High School students explore opportunities for the future. Jobs for Maine’s Graduates and the MELMAC Education Foundation are teaming up to host the school’s second annual Career & College Fair Thursday, Nov. 6, from noon to 3 p.m.

Rather than simply collecting business cards and college brochures, students will get a chance to actually try a few jobs on for size. They’ll check out the masonry profession by building a brick wall. They’ll take the controls of a mobile robot, and test their computer coding skills.

Some of Maine’s largest employers are also donating unique door prizes for a handful of lucky students: UNUM and Idexx are offering company tours and lunch, while AAA is donating two $200 gift cards for driver’s education class.

Jobs for Maine’s Graduates is a statewide, private nonprofit working with students who face barriers to education. It provides 5,000 students a year with the skills and experience they will need to succeed in high school, post secondary education, and careers.
