Talk on cutting cord of cable TV

Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St., is hosting the program “Cut the Cord: Kick your Cable Bill” from 10:30 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Nov. 8, in the library’s event room.

The program, which looks at non-cable options, is for people who want to save money while still enjoying television shows.

‘Nutcracker’ on Westbrook stage

The Scarborough Dance Center will perform the holiday classic “Nutcracker” on Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center, 471 Stroudwater St.

Two shows are set for noon and 4 p.m.

This “Nutcracker” is set in the 1920s and includes multiple dance genres including tap, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary, as well as ballet and pointe numbers.

‘Rejoicing Spirits’ at Trinity

Trinity Lutheran Church, 612 Main St., welcomes everyone to attend its service “Rejoicing Spirits,” a special service for those with cognitive and/or developmental disabilities, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16.

The service includes meaningful messages, music and singing, followed by fellowship and supper. Wheelchair accessibility and American Sign Language translation will be provided.

A look at Down East fishing

Maine guide Jeff McEvoy, owner/operator of Weatherby’s Resort on Grand Lake Stream, will talk about the many Down East fishing possibilities on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the Sebago Trout Unlimited chapter meeting.
