WEST BATH — The Dzogchen Meditation Center, Ka-Nying Surmang Choling, is sponsoring an intensive meditation weekend Nov. 7-9.
“The Great Perfection —
An Introduction to Dzogchen Meditation” begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, and includes a full day of meditation on Saturday. The weekend concludes after Sunday lunch.
“Recognizing Awareness: The Key Point of Meditation Practice” will be the theme.
“The crucial point here is that wisdom, which abides as the ground of dharmakaya, is the primordial purity of the path of the yogins, the absolute view of freedom from all elaboration,” a news release from the center quotes Patrul Rinpoche saying. “Until you recognize this one point, then whatever meditation or practice you do, you can never get beyond a fabricated mind-made view and meditation.”
Dharma talks and individual instruction will be offered during the weekend. The price for the program is $100 and includes meals.
For more information, call 607-3392, email tashi@dzogchenmeditation.com or visit www.dzogchenmeditation.com. The center is located at 4 Armstrong Way.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
