In my opinion, the three gubernatorial candidates all did a fine job explaining their respective positions on many issues on Wednesday evening, Oct. 15, on Voice of the Voter, WCSH. Pat Callahan was superb at keeping them reined in and rerouting them when there were any building kerfuffles. I learned quite a bit about each person’s ways of communicating, managing possible frustrations with each others’ opinions and/or facts and general personalities.

Although I had already made up my mind about voting for Mike Michaud, I now feel even more sure and am really looking forward hopefully to his Maine Plan having a chance to be put into operation. Governor LePage feels strongly about his positions and record so far, and I admire him for that, but don’t agree with him, especially his Medicaid expansion vetos, etc. Eliot Cutler seems to me to be the most vague. If he tries to impress voters with his numbers grasp, I have a hard time with his rationale for assuming he can make up the 20 percent or so points in just the 2 weeks left before Nov. 4th. When a person keeps trying the same thing, as in being a spoiler again, and expecting a different outcome, it’s been said that person has a problem with reality, to say it kindly. Much less attempting to be an effective Maine governor!
