BRUNSWICK — First Parish Church, United Church of Christ, is sponsoring a program, “Afghanistan: Support through Renewal,” on Sunday, Oct. 26, from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.
Sue Chadima and Mariam Raqib will be featured presenters about two special ongoing efforts.
A longtime member of First Parish Church and frequent traveler to Afghanistan, Chadima will discuss an overview of the role of agriculture and animals in the lives of rural Afghans, and efforts to improve their health and production.
Raqib is a native of Afghanistan and formerly of Brunswick. She is founder and director of Afghanistan Samsortya, a nonprofit organization dedicated to grass roots community development projects establishing food security and reforestation in Afghanistan.
First Parish Church is at the corner of Maine Street and Bath Road.
