As the retiring representative for House District 125 (soon to be 35), I would like to take this opportunity to express my pride in, and gratitude for, the chance to have served the people of Westbrook. The past eight years have gone by faster that I could ever have imagined. I look back with the certain knowledge that I have always tried to be your voice in Augusta. It has truly been an honor and a pleasure.
As with many things in life, it’s time for me to move on. Term limits allow new blood to infuse the body politic and that’s a good thing. I now have the important opportunity to recommend a new candidate to serve all of our friends and neighbors in the district. I would like to ask you to support a young man who is smart, energetic and willing to invest the time and energy needed for long days in Augusta in the House Chamber and Committee Rooms. Dillon Bates has a degree in political science from the University of Maine. He’s a licensed EMT and a former MEA chapter president. He has been an active community volunteer and coaches middle and high school track and soccer.
I know I would feel comfortable knowing he was serving the community I love. On Nov. 4, please vote for Dillon Bates for the Maine House of Representatives.
