This year, several new and qualified candidates have entered the election for Scarborough Town Council. These individuals have offered to step up and serve their community and their timing is most appropriate. Scarborough is growing in so many ways, and in turn, our town is experiencing the challenges and opportunities characteristic of a modern society. In essence, managing the business of our town is becoming increasingly more sophisticated and complex. Future leadership needs the experience and proper skill sets to represent the best interests of the town and its citizens.

One of the candidates on the ballot is Peter Hayes. Peter was born, raised and educated in Maine. Leadership roles have taken Mr. Hayes all over the world, but Maine has always been his home. He is a nationally recognized thought leader in the healthcare industry. With decades of service and accolades on both the state and national stage, Peter brings to the table a wealth of leadership experience.

Peter Hayes has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to work with others, navigate complex issues and offer solutions, which elevate the greater good. This gentleman has a proven track record. I encourage you to check out Peter’s impressive resume.

In addition to experience and talent, character and integrity are critical traits of a candidate who wishes to assume responsibility and represent others. With deep roots in Maine, Peter Hayes lives by Maine ideals. A dedicated spouse, dad and neighbor, Peter, while accomplished, is very humble and unassuming. He simply likes and respects the people. Peter is truly the everyman.

The election is quickly approaching and Scarborough voters have a clear choice of selecting three transparent and worthy candidates to assume roles of true leadership. Three candidates with the credentials and abilities to make a true difference managing our town and Peter Hayes is one such individual. In my opinion, Peter brings a new level of experience and leadership. As a citizen in the town of Scarborough, Peter has earned my vote.
