I encourage you to vote no on withdrawal from RSU 5. The RSU was an integral part of my high school experience. I was able to directly experience its benefits through increased class offerings and small class sizes. Without the addition of over 100 Durham and Pownal students, many advanced classes now offered at Freeport High would not have been started.

The best example of this is Advanced Placement Calculus BC, which is the highest level calculus now offered at Freeport High School. This calculus class first started as a 1.5 credit offering that consisted of only eight students. Without Durham and Pownal students, I doubt that the administration would allow this advanced class. It is my strong belief that the creation of the RSU has already been beneficial to the students of all three towns and stands to make an even larger positive impact on students in the future.
