When you vote to elect Jay McCreight to the Maine House of Representatives, you will be casting a ballot that benefits all the people of Harpspwell, West Bath and East Brunswick. Jay McCreight will be a State Representative who leads with care and compassion, pragmatism and hard work. I know this from spending time with her. I know this from observing her interactions with all of you, her community members, as she has visited you day after day during these last months. Jay’s past work speaks of her commitment to Mainers young and old. As a social worker, she understands what Maine women, men and children are up against. She knows the importance of seeing a doctor before its too late. She gets the value of investing in children and education. She is passionate about preserving our environment for future generations and she is steadfast in her dedication to keep our waters clean, protecting the livelihoods of those who have spent generations earning their living from the sea. I hope that by now you’ve had the opportunity to meet Jay. By driving her door to door to meet so many of you, I have seen how much she cares about people. As a legislator from neighboring Freeport, I know that Jay has what it takes to be the best choice for your Representative in Augusta. Her values, her willingness to collaborate, and her strong intellect, will be working for you. Please vote for Jay on November 4th.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
