The political sign for Fred Horch that was at the end of my driveway has vanished. The metal stand that held it is still there, so I suppose the wind could have taken it, although neither of the other signs beside it has been disturbed. I’d like my sign back, please.

Fred Horch is a green,Iindependent candidate running for state Senate in Brunswick District 24. Of the many problems that Mainers face, he is focusing on three — Poverty, Pollution and Plutocracy.

POVERTY: More than one in five Maine children lives in a family which has trouble feeding them. Fred Horch would work to develop a guaranteed dividend so that every family could buy food, clothing and shelter, and have access to health care and lifelong education The guaranteed dividend would be instead of the many individual programs that now exist.

POLLUTION: Fred Horch believes that Maine should move toward clean energy sources that protect people’s health and the environment and keep money circulating in our state rather than letting it drain off to other areas.

PLUTOCRACY: 40 percent of Maine voters are either not registered in a political party or are registered as Green Independents. 97.3 percent of our representatives are either Democrats or Republicans. We need voting reform that will more accurately reflect the electorate’s point of view. Gerrymandering, vote splitting and vanishing political signs are not such a system.

To learn more about Fred Horch you may research him at his website votehorch.com. I urge you to vote for Fred Horch for the state Senate from District 24.
