Age: 67
Address: 76 Colony Lane, Naples
Occupation: Retired Information Technology Consultant/Program Manager
Political experience: Active in the Republican Party
Q: How do you plan to make a difference for your communities if elected to the Legislature?
A: First and foremost, I will ask the following question for any legislation that requires funding: “How are we going to pay for it?” More taxing and borrowing are not the answers.
I will sponsor and support legislation to:
1. Reduce High Energy Costs: Families and business cannot afford high energy costs. High energy costs and high taxes have contributed to an unfriendly business climate. I will support regulatory reforms that will fuel healthy, robust economic growth creating more good paying jobs for Maine people.
2. Achieve Welfare Security:
Preserve welfare for the truly needy to protect the safety net.
Stop welfare dollars being spent out of state, at casinos, liquor stores, and strip clubs.
Promote independence and self-sufficiency through job assistance programs.
3. Support Maine Seniors
Fight any attempt by Washington politicians to cut seniors’ Medicare safety net.
Reduce high energy costs and protect affordable energy options.
Fight for lower property taxes to help seniors stay in their homes.
4. Protect Maine’s Outdoor Traditions:
Defend Mainers’ 2nd Amendment rights and their right to protect their homes and families.
Promote practical conservation that allows for sustainable usage of our natural resources.
Celebrate and protect Maine’s sporting traditions of hunting, fishing and hiking.
When elected by “The people [of] House District 68” I will represent them on their behalf to bring prosperity, protection and the way life should be here in Maine.

Q: How do you plan to make a difference for your communities if elected to the Legislature?
A: If I am re-elected, I will continue to serve my communities by listening to the voters’ concerns about the issues, by considering my personal views and trying to strike a balance with each vote based on the individual issue, not any particular party issue.
Serving in the Maine Legislature the last two years has been an honor. I am still in awe each time I walk up the hill to “go to work” and sit in the committee room or the House Chamber. It is a humbling experience to know that people put their faith in me to serve them and their needs to the best of my ability.
There has been too much partisanship in Augusta. I was elected to office in 2012 in part based on the support of many people who know I am willing to work with whomever is necessary to find the best solutions to the problems facing the average Maine citizen. I have tremendous support from friends, neighbors and colleagues on both sides of the aisle, at the local level and in the Maine State House. I believe with the current atmosphere in Maine politics, the only way forward is to work together to make a difference in our communities and our state.
