Do most readers realize the similarities between baiting for bear and baiting for lobster?

• Both are most effectively harvested and managed using bait as a lure.

• Both are great renewable resources that we have here in Maine.

• Both provide quality food for thousands of people.

• Both provide thousands of jobs here in Maine.

• Both are nearly impossible to harvest without the use of bait.

If you plan on voting “yes” to ban the use of bait for bear hunting, then why wouldn’t you want to ban the use of bait for lobstering?

This ban simply does not make sense.

Preserve our hunting tradition of harvesting bear in the most effective legal methods available and let’s all vote “no” on 1, before baiting for lobster is on next year’s ballot!
