Diversified Communications, a Portland-based media company with 800 employees worldwide, has reorganized into two leadership teams.

One team will support the company’s global division and the other will lead the U.S. team.

“These organizational moves will enable Diversified US to grow in the important and reliable North American market and create additional career path opportunities, while also improving corporate governance across all our divisions,” said Ted Wirth, president and chief executive, in a press release. “This new structure will provide additional leadership to our seven global divisions in the areas of strategy and corporate development, human resources, finance and business operations and provide strong leadership to support and grow our profitable U.S. division.”

Diversified operates out of 14 offices in seven countries. Collectively, it produces over 100 exhibitions and conferences annually, 35 media products and print publications and two television stations. The domestic division of the company grew revenue by 35 percent over the past three years, according to the release.

In July, Diversified bought a British media and events firm, Expo Management, for an undisclosed price. The company has bought more than 20 companies since 2007. In May of this year, it converted one its print publications, SeaFood Business Magazine, to an online-only publication.

Diversified’s corporate team, which will support the company’s seven divisions and two television stations, will work the managing directors from each business unit. This team includes Oakley Dyer, corporate vice president- strategy and corporate development; Janice Rogers, corporate vice president – human resources; Anthony Martin, vice president – business operations; and Kathy Willing, chief financial officer. Willing joins Diversified as Paul Clancy, the company’s longtime executive vice president and CFO, retires at the end of the year.

The U.S. division will be led by a team of executive vice presidents: Mary Larkin, Mike Lodato and Bill Springer and a newly formed team of Vicki Hennin, senior vice president, and vice presidents Liz Plizga, Bob Callahan, Joann Leonard, Eric Wagner and RD Whitney.

Diversified, which employs about 175 at its Portland office, serves a number of industries, including seafood, food service, health care, commercial marine and business management.
