No one was hurt in a crash on Route 35 near Busque Boulevard in Standish Tuesday morning that knocked power lines down and shut down traffic for several hours.
Upon arrival at about 7 a.m., Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies found the road to be blocked by the wires after Debra Martinson, 49, of Limington, feel asleep while operating her 1997 Toyota vehicle south on Chadbourne Road and drifted off the road and struck a CMP pole causing it to break.
After Martinson hit the pole, the wires came down on a passing Kenworth logging truck driven by Libby Warren, 59, of North Waterboro. Another pole was torn down in the process.
Standish Fire-Rescue responded to the crash and utility crews were on scene repairing the damage.
