As an Independent voter and a resident of Durham, I’m supporting Anne Graham as the better choice for our local representative to the Maine House. As a selectperson in North Yarmouth since 2007, Annie understands the challenges faced by small towns. As a member and current chair of the Legislature’s joint committee on state and local government she recognizes the need to reduce local property taxes while supporting essential services.

As a retired person, I find it increasingly difficult to pay my local real estate taxes, especially since the property tax rebate program has been severely cut back. From talking with Annie, I believe her publicly stated positions, legislative experience and background in local government will provide Durham, Pownal and North Yarmouth’s seniors with someone on our side in Augusta. As a pediatric nurse practitioner, Annie understands the need for all of us to have access to competent medical care and at the same time pay the providers in a timely and efficient manner. Her record of working “across the aisle” to get things done aligns with my values and her experience convinces me that she will serve us well in Augusta representing District 46
