BRUNSWICK — Earl L. Stimpson, 83, of 6 Lombard St., died Sept. 19, 2014, at Freeport Nursing Home.
He was born in Brunswick on Aug. 13, 1921, the son of Earl L. and Bessie Collins Stimpson.
He graduated from Brunswick High School and served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He married Malena Kendrick in Brunswick in 1948.
Mr. Stimpson was employed at Bowdoin College and for 30 years as a civil service employee at Brunswick Naval Air Station.
He was a member for over 70 years of Ft. George Lodge, Knights of Pythias and a former Grand Chancellor.
He is survived by his wife of Brunswick, a son Guy and a grandson Sean of Killeen, TX.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Unitarian-Universalist Church, 15 Pleasant St., Brunswick. For those unable to attend the service, condolences to the family may be expressed at www.brackettfuneralhome.com.
