The Seashore Trolley Museum’s 16th annual Pumpkin Patch Trolley will feature two recipe contests this year.

The Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale Recipe Contest, to be held Sept. 20, has four categories – bread/dessert, soup/chili/stew, appetizer/salad and meat/poultry/fish – that require contestants to cook with Pumpkinhead Ale as an ingredient.

The first place and People’s Choice winners in each category will receive a $50 gift card to Federal Jack’s, and a Pumpkinhead T-shirt, hat and pint glass. Second place will win the Pumpkinhead T-shirt, hat and pint glass.

There will also be a grand prize: 12 cases of Shipyard Brewing Company beer or soda, enough to last a year.

The following week, Sept. 27, the museum will host a pumpkin dessert recipe contest, with prizes provided by King Arthur Flour. The first place winner will receive a $75 gift certificate to the Baker’s Catalogue at kingarthurflour.com and a King Arthur Flour Cookbook.

Second place will win a $50 gift certificate and a cookbook, and third will receive a $25 gift certificate and a cookbook.

All entries will be offered for sale after judging.
