SCARBOROUGH – A Portland man has been arrested and charged with burglary from two different businesses on Route in Scarborough, according to a press release issued by the Scarborough Police Department.

Ernest Paterno, 44, was arrested at 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, after he was caught exiting one of the businesses. Police said Paterno took items from both the Mr. Bagel shop, at 172 U.S. Route 1, and Roy’s Shoe Shop, at 174 U.S. Route 1.

All of the stolen items were recovered and released back to the businesses, according to the press release.
