Gray-New Gloucester senior Captain and goalie Zoe Adams delivered a knockout performance in net Saturday afternoon against visiting Falmouth, but her efforts weren’t enough to keep the Patriots in the game. Though they held their ground for better than 60 minutes, Gray-New Gloucester’s defense eventually lapsed to the Yachtsmen’s determined attack, which hashed a pair of goals late in the second half to secure a 2-0 victory.

“They’re a team that has talent,” said Patriots head coach Kiaran McCormack of the opposition. “So we had a plan that we were able to play to for long periods of time, but at some point it’s going to break down, and it’s where the ball falls – who has the little bit of luck – at that time. We changed our formation to try to get the goal that would get us back in the game, but then we were caught with numbers up.”
