PORTLAND – “Roll Up Your Sleeves and Remember,” the Portland Fire Department’s second annual blood drive, will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday to commemorate those who lost their lives or loved ones on Sept. 11, 2001. Donors will receive T-shirts and, while supplies last, aluminum water bottles. A free pancake breakfast will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. A raffle will be offered for a dinner for six provided by one of the shifts at Central Fire Station at a date to be arranged with the winner. Expect to see a fire truck and a special appearance by Slugger, the Sea Dog mascot. The drive will take place at the Red Cross Blood Donation Center at 524 Forest Ave.
