Several people suffered minor injuries and traffic was delayed for about 45 minutes Saturday afternoon after a four-car crash on Route 1 in Saco, police said.

Police said the crash occurred at 2:14 p.m. at 729 Portland Road, which is Route 1. Two cars traveling south collided with two cars going north, WCSH-TV reported.

Traffic was shut down in two lanes for about 45 minutes but was back to normal by 3:30 p.m.

Police said several people were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland but that none of the injuries was serious.
