Boys Cross Country

Coach: Jason Tanguay

Last year’s record: 11-2

Key athletes: Ben Foster (sr.), Drew York (sr.), Matt Esposito (sr.), Mitch Rossignol (sr.), Jesse Southard (jr.), Cam Tracy (jr.), Spencer Linscott (jr.), Sean Pratt (jr.), Ben Bradshaw (jr.), Collin Jones (jr.)

Key meets: Festival of Champions, Western Maine Regionals

Outlook: The Rams lost two of their top five seniors to graduation in June. “They’ll be hard to replace,” Tanguay says, “but we had many boys running this summer. I’m looking for these boys to fill those spots.” Tanguay also sees a tough regular season standing between his squad and regionals, “but I believe this team can put in the hard work necessary to qualify for the state meet.”

Girls Cross Country

Coach: John Caterina (second year)

Last year: 14th in Class A West; missed States

Key athletes: Kristen Benson (sr.), Ashley Woodbury (sr.), Meghan Hanley (sr.), Diana Albanese (jr.), Maddie Dewitt (jr.), Sarah Flanders (jr.), Bridget Rossignol (fr.), Anna Slager (fr.)

Outlook: After a rough 2013, Caterina is optimistic about his squad’s chances in 2014, calling the Lady Rams “a small but talented group.” Caterina hopes to add a few more names to his roster, and his fingers are crossed for a healthy season. If those pieces fall into place for the team, he expects them to vie for a top slot in A West, saying they “could be the biggest surprise in the SMAA this year.”
