Harry Baker-Connick, Waynflete senior, forward: Scrappy leader for the Flyers, was an All-Western C pick with an eight-goal season as a junior.

Tyler Barrows, York senior, midfield: The Wildcats’ co-captain is moving from center back to center midfield, and brings the athleticism and touch to be an impact player.

Hanssen Casey, Marshwood senior, back: A second-team All-SMAA pick, the strong and physical central defender also scored a team-high six goals.

Ian Corey, Scarborough senior, defense: One of just two starters back for the state champs, Corey will be counted on to be the linchpin of the defense.

Henry Curran, South Portland senior, goalkeeper: In first year as keeper, Curran gained valuable experience, tied for the conference lead with 85 saves and posted three shutouts.

Cody Elliott, Gorham junior, midfield: Coming off a team-leading scoring season of 12 goals and seven assists, Elliott’s tenacity and energy helps drive one of Class A’s top squads.

Josh Emard, Noble senior, forward: A returning All-Western Maine pick with a big shot and quick release, he must score regularly for Noble to come close to last year’s surprise 12-3-1 record.

Sam Farr, Portland junior, midfield: The captain on a veteran team, Farr scored four goals with 10 assists while earning second-team All-SMAA honors.

Eddie Galvin, Cape Elizabeth senior, midfield: An all-region selection as a junior for a Capers team looking to improve on its 5-5-4 regular-season record.

Cameron Glover, Brunswick senior, midfield: An All-Eastern A pick as a junior is expected to be the Dragons’ go-to player.

Adam Labrie, Yarmouth senior, forward: Coming off an 11-goal, four-assist season, Labrie is one of the state’s most dangerous forwards.

Jacob Nason, Greely junior, forward: Fourteen goals as a sophomore and 30 in his career are great stats for Nason. Scoring in five of the six playoff games he’s appeared in is even more telling.

D.J. Nicholas, North Yarmouth Academy senior, forward: Led WMC with 32 goals as NYA went 14-0 in the regular season last year. Has 70 career goals.

Stephen Ochan, Deering senior, midfield: All-Western Maine, All-SMAA as a junior, scoring four goals with five assists. Size, skill, speed and determination to play both sides make him a top Player of Year candidate.

John Roux, Mt. Ararat senior, goalkeeper: Veteran Mt. Ararat coach Rick Renaud calls his keeper “one of the best in the state,” noting he’s both cerebral and athletic.

Anthony Russo, Deering senior, goalkeeper: Returning first-team all-SMAA goalie has great hands and is dominant on high shots and crosses.

Josiah Simko, Camden Hills senior, forward: A starter in the midfield for the three-time defending Eastern B champs, Simko will move to forward this year.

Ethan Spaulding, Greater Portland Christian, sophomore: After scoring 27 goals in an 8-6-1 season, both Spaulding and his team will be challenged by a tougher schedule and greater attention.

Tyler St. Pierre, Gray-New Gloucester senior, forward: The Patriots’ lone WMC all-conference returner, St. Pierre led the team with eight goals and breakaway speed.

Ahmed Suja, South Portland junior, forward: Coming off a strong seven-goal, four-assist season, Suja is a big reason the Red Riots are contenders this season.

Griffin Thoreck, Cape Elizabeth senior, back: A solid defender, the All-Western B returner is known for scoring and setting up goals with free kicks.

Luke Velas, Falmouth senior, forward: An All-Telegram pick in 2013 after a 15-goal season, he’s a known commodity among both the WMC and now the Western Class A ranks.

Ben Vigue, Yarmouth senior, midfield: A captain, Vigue was a key part of Yarmouth’s 13-1-3 season and will solidify the midfield.

Sam Ware, Scarborough senior, midfield: Will be expected to control the field, especially early in the season as the Red Storm go for a third straight Class A title after graduating nine starters.

Surafel Zunser, Massabesic junior, midfield: Skilled player with the ball who will be asked to raise the level of play around him for the Mustangs.
