A 28-year-old man was killed after being thrown 120 feet from the car he was driving when it left the road and hit a utility pole early Monday morning.
John H. Bubar was pronounced dead at the scene on Pendexter Road in Parsonsfield, according to Chief Deputy William King of the York County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the scene of the crash at 2:15 a.m. and found the 1998 Subaru Legacy empty. They called on members of the Kezar Falls Fire Department to find its occupants.
Bubar was found dead two hours later, lying in a ditch about 120 feet from the crash site, King said. There were no other occupants.
It appears the car left the road, hit a rock and slid on its side before hitting the utility pole and ejecting Bubar, who was driving.
Police said there were no signs of alcohol use.
The sheriff’s office is investigating the crash.
