A rally hosted by the national president of Planned Parenthood in support of Democratic candidate for Maine governor Mike Michaud has been postponed.

The “Women for Mike” rally with Cecile Richards had been planned for Wednesday at Portland City Hall.

The Democrat’s campaign said Monday that the event will now take place at a later date.

A Michaud spokeswoman said Richards had a scheduling conflict. Richards said she looks forward to visiting Maine later this fall to help his campaign.

The Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund PAC has endorsed Michaud, the 2nd District congressman, in the three-person race with Republican Gov. Paul LePage and independent Eliot Cutler.

The group is planning to spend at least $500,000 in support of Michaud and in other races this fall.
