Thursday, Aug. 21: All Windham Primary School families are invited to “Popsicles with the Principal” and playing on the playground by the cafeteria. Saturday, Aug. 23: The sixth annual Maine Native American Summer Market will be held at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village on Route 26 in New Gloucester from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. More than 40 members of the Penobscot, Passamaquoddy, Micmac and Maliseet tribes will demonstrate traditional Wabanaki art forms including basketmaking, stone carving, bark etching, beadwork and jewelry, in addition to featured performances of drumming by the Burnurwurbskek Singers, dancing by the Sipayik Dance Troupe and story telling. Aug. 23: If you are aviation-minded, come to Eastern Slope Regional Airport in Fryeburg for an informational meeting exploring the possibility of forming a flying club in the Western Maine and White Mountain Valley region. Sunday, Aug. 31: A Three-Gun Competition Prize Shoot takes place at the Western Maine Fish & Game Club at 1026 Norway Road in Harrison. It includes pistol, rifle and shotgun with overall score from 10 shots at paper targets each for rifle and pistol and a round of 25 shots at one round of trap (clay birds). Competition starts at 9 a.m. Entry fee $30. First, second and third prizes include Weatherby 12-gauge pump shotgun, barbecue grill and David Footer original prints. Burgers, dogs, drinks and snacks also available.

Saturday, Sept. 6: If you like to sing and can carry a tune, come join The Lake Region Community Chorus at its first rehearsal at 6 pm. at Bridgton Academy’s Twitchell Memorial Chapel. No auditions are required. Rehearsals run for 13 weeks, with the first concert scheduled for Dec. 5. Each member is asked to pay $20 for music for the whole session.

Sept. 6: The Pleasant Mountain Music Fest takes place at Shawnee Peak Ski Area from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Ten bands will be performing. Tickets are $20 for adults, children under 12 are free. All donations will benefit the Bridgton Fuel Collaborative. Sept. 6: The Sebago Community Fire Co. will be holding a fundraising car wash from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Sebago FD Station 1 on Route 107. The rain date is Sunday, Sept. 7, also at 9 a.m. Donations will be accepted with a minimum suggested donation of $5. There will be light refreshments and drinks available.

Wednesday, Sept. 10: The Sebago Lake Rotary Club is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive from 2-7 p.m. at the Windham Veterans Center. The drive is being held in honor of Toby Pennels, a member of the club who required blood transfusions as a result of a motorcycle accident in July.

Saturday, Sept. 13: An Antique Appraisal Day featuring appraiser Bruce Buxton takes place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Standish Congregational Church, 25 Oak Hill Road, in Standish. Sunday, Sept. 14: The 21st Annual Windham Raymond Athletic Boosters Auto Show will take place behind the Windham Mall/North Windham Hannaford. The show is the booster club’s largest fundraiser for Windham High School athletics, and drew over 300 show cars and thousands of spectators last year.
