BATH
A Brunswick man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly stalking his exgirlfriend from the parking lot of her workplace.
At around 9 p.m. Sunday, the woman reported to police that 22-year old Luke Toothaker of Brunswick was waiting in the parking lot outside her place of employment. She said she had received repeated unwanted text messages from Toothaker and ignored them, Bath Police Lt. Robert Savary said, but he continued to wait for her.
Police found and identified Toothaker in the parking lot, Savary said. Toothaker allegedly was very upset and emotional because his ex-girlfriend was with another man, and had no other reason to be in the parking lot “other than to try to intimidate her.” Savary said Toothaker, who had several knives in his front pocket, has a history of threatening his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend.
Toothaker was arrested, charged with domestic violence stalking, and was transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. A jail official said he has been released after posting a $1,000 unsecured bail.
