A 22-year-old Lewiston woman was killed in a single car crash on Buxton Road in Saco early Sunday morning.

Police are withholding the name of the woman until her family is notified. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saco police Sgt. Chris Hardiman said the woman’s 2005 four-door Ford Focus left the road and crashed into a telephone pole as it headed west at about 2:05 a.m.

The accident was reported by a passerby, police said.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
