BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Housing Authority intends to add six apartments of affordable housing on Spring Street, after receiving a nearly half-million-dollar grant to purchase the property. 

Executive Director John Hodge on Monday thanked the Town Council for sponsoring the authority’s application for a $450,000 Community Development Block Grant to buy the property at 27 Spring St. 

The BHA intends to demolish a garage and build a two-apartment duplex, and renovate another building into four apartments.

Hodge said BHA hopes to close on the acquisition next week.
