WISCASSET — The First Congregational Church of Wiscasset is hosting its 31st annual Summerfest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, on the Wiscasset Town Common.
The 10th annual Dog Parade will take place at 10: 30 a. m., with all dogs invited to take part.
All- day events include many Treasure Tables — Jewelry, Books, Knits /Crafts, Jumbles (slightly used items), Woodbutchers, Toys, Baked Goods, Plants — the Candy Kitchen, On Common Café and games for children. The silent auction has many wonderful gifts, including many items donated by local merchants, artists and crafters.
There also will be entertainment all day long, with music provided by local musicians.
Proceeds from the event — as has been the case for the past 30 years — will be donated to various local charities for the improvement of the community.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
