PORTLAND — Shape Note Singing is planned Sunday, July 6, from 1-4 p.m. at The New Church, 302 Stevens Ave.

This four- part singing tradition also known as Sacred Harp originated in Colonial America and is enjoying a revival nationwide. Shape note harmonies are unusual and exciting to sing.

This is not a performance — everyone is welcome to participate. Free. For more information, visit maineshapenotesinging.org.
