A golf tournament to benefit the nonprofit organization aiming to expand educational opportunities for students in School Administrative District 75 will take place this week.

The Trust For Our Future Golf Scramble will tee-off Wednesday morning at The Highland Green golf course at 114 Village Drive in Topsham. Tournament registration is from 7:15-8:15 a.m. Wednesday; the golf scramble starts at 8:15 a.m.

According to its website, Trust for Our Future is an education fund benefiting SAD 75 and is a nonprofit organization “that expands educational opportunities, fosters partnerships and advances academic excellence for students beyond the general school curriculum.

The Trust awards competitive mini-grants to teachers for innovative teaching and learning projects that are designed to engage students in meaningful learning. Projects focus on technology, the arts, science, health promotion, service learning, school and community presentations, career learning and visiting authors.”

Sponsorship opportunities range from corporate sponsorships (platinum, gold or silver levels) to playing patron foursome teams to individual playing patron. Sponsor levels range from $100 to $600.

The barbecue luncheon is at 1:15 p.m. and the awards and prize drawings are at 2 p.m. Prizes range from a 2014 Toyota Prius to a pair of round-trip airline tickets to a weekend stay at a Sunday River condo and a Highland Green golf membership.
