A meeting between the Freeport Withdrawal Committee and the Regional School Unit 5 Working Group, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, has been postponed.

Rich DeGrandpre, a Withdrawal Committee member, said Tuesday night that the meeting will be held instead at 9 a.m. Monday at the Freeport Town Hall. There will be a short public meeting, then the two sides will enter into executive session, DeGrandpre said.

The Withdrawal Committee and the Working Group, comprised of school board members from Durham and Pownal, are negotiating for Freeport to withdraw from RSU 5. The two committees have agreed to use a facilitator to help them come to agreement as to whether Freeport High needs to commit 10 years to Durham and Pownal students.

DeGrandpre said that the Withdrawal Committee and the Working Group will meet again on Wednesday, June 11, at Freeport High School, beginning at 6:30. The Withdrawal Committee meets every Thursday at the school, at 6:30
