TOPSHAM — Kathleen Marie Brooks, 80, of Topsham, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick, with family by her side. Kathleen “Kay” was born on Feb. 19, 1934, in Houlton, Maine, the daughter of Frank Bachelder and Beatrice (Hammond) Bachelder. Kay was a graduate of Houlton High School. On April 20, 1953, Kay married Theodore F. Brooks of Island Falls and was a Navy wife for the next 17 years.

She was a lifelong homemaker, loving wife, mom, grandmother and greatgrammie. Kay and Ted celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this year.

Kay is survived by husband, Theodore “Ted” Brooks; son David and his wife Lynne of Lisbon Falls; granddaughter Lisa Brooks Brown and great-grandson Ethan Brown of Lisbon; grandson Jason D. Brooks and his wife Katie and greatgrandsons Nolan and Grant Brooks of Waterboro; cousin Carol Davis of Plymouth, Mass., and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Jeanette Brooks.
