Stoudt earns master’s degree
Jennifer Stoudt recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a master’s of arts degree, focusing on elementary education. A Gorham High School graduate in 2008, Stoudt is the daughter of Will and Brenda Stoudt of Gorham, who attended the ceremony.
Stoudt has been teaching second grade in Charlotte in the Teach for America program since graduating from the University of Maine in 2012. Starting in June, she will pursue a degree in urban education policy at Brown University.
Parade registration
Groups and individuals wishing to participate in Gorham’s Memorial Day parade, which forms up at the Village School at 10 a.m. and starts at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 26, should register with the Gorham Recreation Department by visiting www.gorhamrec.com or by calling 222-1630. There is no fee to participate in the parade.
VFW post seeks members
Gorham’s VFW Post 10879 is seeking members.
The post meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday monthly at West Gorham Fire Station on Ossipee Trail (Route 25).

Potluck with a Purpose
A monthly dinner meeting, Potluck With a Purpose, aimed at combating human trafficking, continues at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 30, at South Gorham Baptist Church on County Road in Gorham.
This month’s topic is safe houses. Speakers include Bill Legere, Phil Crowell,and Dave Wolfe of the Not Here Conference and Project TLC (Transitional Living Centers); and Bob Atherton, founder and developer of Amirah, a safe house on the North Shore of Boston.
The meeting is open to the public, and those attending are welcome to bring a food dish to share.

The Bureau of the Fiscal Service reported on May 15 that the U.S. Public Debt was $17,471,572,575,280.71.
