Fourth-grade students at Harriet Beecher Stowe Elementary School in Brunswick beat on African-style drums during a March 28 performance led by Portland percussionist Annegret Baier. The performance was the culmination of Baier’s three-week residency on West African culture. The residency was made possible by Arts Are Elementary, a local nonprofit.
