A man is in stable condition at Maine Medical Center after being hit by a car on Forest Avenue Saturday night.

Portland Police said the man was hit at about 11:30 p.m. His name is being withheld. The accident is under investigation.

The man was crossing the street near 965 Forest Ave. outside of the pedestrian crosswalk when he was hit. The driver of the sedan stopped.

More information was not immediately available from police.
