Michelle Ritcheson, a Regional School Board 5 member from Durham who became ill during a school board meeting Wednesday, was treated and released later Wednesday night from Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, a hospital spokesman said Thursday morning.
Wednesday’s board meeting at Freeport High School was suspended shortly after 8 p.m., after Ritcheson slumped over in her chair. An ambulance crew arrived within 10 minutes and took Ritcheson, who appeared conscious, to the hospital.
Ritcheson is chairwoman of the RSU Working Group, which is negotiating Freeport’s possible withdrawal from the RSU with the Freeport Withdrawal Committee.
