KITTERY — Young Athletes is a developmentally and age-appropriate introduction to the Special Olympics sports through play.

Children with intellectual disabilities or autism, ages 2 1/2 to 7 1/2, and their siblings of similar ages are invited to attend the free, weekly activities.

Each week, children will be introduced to a new sports activity. They will have the opportunity to play games, socialize, learn and develop skills, and enjoy a snack.

An introductory class will be held Monday, Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Kittery Lion’s Club, located on Route 1 in Kittery, just south of the traffic circle.
