Details: Nyquist plays professionally for the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings. He joined Sweden’s Olympic hockey team as a forward to replace an injured Detroit Red Wings teammate, Johan Franzen.
Maine connection: Nyquist played for the University of Maine’s Black Bears for three seasons, most recently in 2010-2011, before signing with the Red Wings after his junior year.
