LEBANON — Elizabeth L. (Vaccaro) Jellerson, 82, of Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at the Sanford Medical Center, formerly Goodall Hospital, in Sanford.

She was born in Revere, Mass. on Aug. 1, 1931, a daughter of the late William J. Sr. and Vera E. (Mazza) Vaccaro.

She attended local schools and was a graduate of Sanford High School. Following graduation, she attended nursing school in Portland. Elizabeth did her residency at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.22

She worked as an RN and as the night supervisor at the Goodall Hospital in the 1950s and early ’60s. From 1963, she was a full-time mother, raising nine children with her late husband, and during the next 22 years, she served as much a member of the United States Coast Guard as her husband and father to nine, Rear Admiral Dr. L.R. Jellerson. Elizabeth maintained her nursing license in Maine until 2010, when she had her first mild stroke.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; two sons, Bob B. Jellerson and Mike J. Jellerson; brother, John A. Vaccaro; sister, Cathy Vaccaro; brother-in-law, Toppy Allen; and sisters-in-law, Sheila Vaccaro and Rachel Vaccaro.

She is survived by: her children, Susan Kerr and her husband Don, Steve Jellerson and his wife Rosemarie, Martha Kamens and her husband Murray, David Jellerson and his wife Nancey, James Jellerson, Debra Jellerson and Rob Jellerson and his wife Karen; grandchildren, Stephanie, Norma, Eric, Joseph and R.J.; sister, Barbara Allen; brothers, William J. Vaccaro Jr. and his wife Phyllis, Paul Vaccaro and his wife Vicki and Thomas Vaccaro and his wife Ann; sister-in-law, Sandy Vaccaro; nieces and nephews, Diane, Ricky, Lori, Lisa, Terri, Melisa, Glenn, P.J., Alan, Rhonda, Robin, David, Donna, Steve, Sue; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St. in Springvale. Visiting hours will be from noon until the time of the service. Burial will be in the spring in the family lot at Notre Dame Cemetery in Springvale.
