The black-and-white photo above, taken on March 3, 1965, was reprinted in the July 26, 1980, edition of the Portland Evening Express with this caption:

“Corner property at Cumberland Avenue and Myrtle Street which will be purchased by the city to square off City Hall block. The site is occupied by a small apartment building and a vacant store. Tentative price is $5,000. (By Staff Photographer Olson)”
