Preseason boys’ basketball games set to be played at Gorham High on Tuesday

Gorham High School will hold the East/West Challenge boys’ basketball preseason tournament Tuesday.

The event will feature four games, with the opener starting at 4 p.m.

Teams participating in the tournament include Portland vs. Brunswick at 4 p.m., Windham vs. Medomak Valley at 5:30, South Portland vs. Hampden Academy at 7 and Gorham vs. Oxford Hills at 8:30.

The tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

HOCKEY

AHL: The Phoenix Coyotes assigned defenseman Rostislav Klesla to the Portland Pirates.

Klesa has one goal and two assists with 10 penalty minutes in 15 games with the Coyotes this season.
