A man was killed Saturday, Nov. 23, in Naples while trying to jumpstart a vehicle using a John Deere tractor.
At 4:10 p.m., Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies and members of the Naples Fire-Rescue Department responded to 24 Mallard Drive for a report of a man trapped under a tractor that had rolled over on him.
According to Capt. Don Goulet, Shawn Crouch, 31, of 24 Mallard Drive, was using a tractor to pull a compact car in an effort to jumpstart the car. Crouch lost control of the tractor and was pinned underneath as the tractor rolled over. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was hurt in the accident.
According to protocol, the State Medical Examiner’s Office was notified and the matter remains under investigation.
