Saturday, Nov. 16: The family of Laurie A. Carter Bergen is holding a Nov. 16 Ticket Auction (Chinese) at the Old Bridgton Town Hall, 26 North High St. Doors open at 11 a.m.; drawings start at 1 p.m. All proceeds go toward the fields at the new complex in Bridgton. The family is also holding a Craft and Vendor Fair at the Old Bridgton Town Hall on Nov. 20 from 9-3. Tables are going fast, if interested call 627-7380. $20 per table.
Nov. 16: The Saco River Theatre, formerly the Saco River Grange Hall at 29 Salmon Falls Road, Bar Mills, hosts Grammy award-winning Blues artist and actor Chris Thomas King, who has blazed a uniquely roots-to-contemporary musical path. The 7:30 p.m. show, performed with King’s trio, will feature new songs from his recent albums as well as fan favorites including songs from the movies “O Brother, Where Art Thou” and “Ray.” Tickets are $30. Nov. 16: Join the Friends of Windham Public Library for the Annual Book & Bake Sale 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Preview Sale Friday, Nov. 15, 6:30-8:30 p.m. with a $10 fee for each person entering the building. Adult hardcover books $1, paperbacks 50 cents, audio/visual $1. Children’s books (except hardcover chapter books) 25 cents, children’s hardcover chapter books 50 cents. ?Bake sale items may be left in the Children’s Room on Friday, Nov. 15. Nov. 16: The Annual Chili & Chowder Challenge at Schoolhouse Arts Center runs 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Schoolhouse Arts Center, 16 Richville Road, Standish. Local restaurants compete for best of everything. Tickets are $5/adults $3/children under 10. There will be entertainment, children’s activities, raffles, vendors and more.
Nov. 16: Faith Lutheran Church, 988 Roosevelt Trail in North Windham, is holding a Fall Cabaret and Spaghetti Dinner. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner at 6 p.m. Show at 7 p.m. The menu includes appetizers, homemade minestrone soup, salad and bread, meatballs and spaghetti and tiramisu. Wednesday, Nov. 20: Raymond Village Library on Main Street in Raymond will host a “Money in Politics” program at 6:30 p.m. The program will explore the role of money in politics in Maine’s elections, presented by Maine Citizens for Clean Elections, with B.J. McCollister as speaker. McCollister has an extensive background in political campaigns and issue-advocacy organizations.
Thursday, Nov. 21: The New Gloucester Historical Society will honor the town’s resident World War II veterans with a program beginning at 7 p.m. in the New Gloucester Meetinghouse, 389 Intervale Road (Route 231), next to the Town Hall. The veterans will share memories of their military service. Members, friends and the general public are invited. Refreshments will be served.
Saturday, Nov. 23: Limington Historical Society is having an Old Fashioned Christmas Craft Fair, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Limington Municipal Complex, 425 Sokokis Avenue (Route 11), Limington. Monday, Nov. 25: Food and Fellowship, Inc. is offering its annual Monday Meal Thanksgiving Dinner on Monday, Nov. 25, at 5:30 p.m. at North Windham Union Church, Route 302, North Windham. Everyone is welcome, and it is free to the community.
Sunday, Dec. 1: A tree lighting at 5 p.m. is sponsored by the Raymond Lions Club in conjunction with the Raymond Village Library and begins the holiday season each year in Raymond. All are invited. There will be carolers from the Raymond schools to entertain and refreshments will be served. There will be a special story time beginning at 4:30 p.m., presented by Lisa Davison, youth services assistant.
Saturday, Jan. 4: There will be a Rabies Clinic at the Sebago Town Hall from 10 a.m.-noon. The clinic will be limited to cats and dogs only. No puppies or kittens. Cats must be in carriers, and dogs on a non-retractable leash. The veterinarian also requests no sick or pregnant animals. Costs will be $10. Bring the most recent rabies certificate to receive a 3-year shot, otherwise a 1-year shot will be administered.
