Spaghetti Supper
On Saturday, Nov. 16, a spaghetti supper will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Hall, 919 Roosevelt Trail, and Windham. The menu includes antipasto, meatballs and pasta, garlic rolls, beverages and dessert. All homemade food. $9 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under. Tickets at the door. Takeout orders available. Proceeds will support Operation Tribute. The organization provides Christmas gifts to children of deployed members of the U.S. military. Last year Operation Tribute delivered 37,000 gifts in five states. The dinner is put on by the members and families of Windham Knights of Columbus Council 10020. Thanksgiving Hymn Sing
A public Thanksgiving hymn sing will be held on Sunday, Nov. 17, from 3-4 p.m. at the Raymond Village Community Church, Main Street (Route 121) in Raymond Village, led by church Music Director, Karen Strange. The church choir will be featured. All are welcome – no service, no sermon, no collection – just music. Call 655-7749 for more information.
Thanksgiving Baskets Available
Windham Food Pantry will assist residents who need a turkey and help getting their Thanksgiving dinner together. Call Colette at 892-1931 for information. Deadline for Thanksgiving food assistance is Friday, Nov. 15.
Book and Bake Sale
On Saturday, Nov. 16, the library will hold a book and bake sale from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. A preview sale will be on Friday, Nov. 15, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. A $10 fee for each person entering the building. If you have any questions, call 892-1908. Baked goods may be left in the Children’s Room on Friday, Nov. 15. Please note any items that contain nuts. Individual serving packages always sell well. The library is overwhelmed with book donations at the moment and asks that donors wait until December to donate more. The sale prices will be $1 for adult hardcover books or audio/visual items. Paperbacks and children’s hardcover chapter books are 50 cents and other children’s books, 25 cents.
Cabaret and Dinner
On Saturday, Nov. 16, Faith Lutheran Church, Roosevelt Trail, will hold a Fall Cabaret and Spaghetti Dinner. Doors open at 5:30; dinner at 6 p.m. with the show at 7 p.m. Dinner includes homemade minestrone soup, salad, spaghetti and meatballs, tiramisu, bread and beverages. Following dinner, a “Knock your Socks off Cabaret” featuring current music and show tunes from the past. Tickets are limited. Call 627-7007 or 415-9742 for tickets.

Holiday Craft Fair
On Saturday, Nov. 23, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Harmony Masonic Hall, Cressey Road, Gorham, the Friends of the Former South Windham Library and Tri-Town Extension will hold a Holiday Craft Fair including handmade raffle baskets, baked goods, crafts and much more.
Christmas Luncheon for Seniors
Reservations are due Dec. 2, 2013 for a Christmas luncheon planned for Monday, Dec. 16, at 11:30 a.m. at Windham Veterans Center. The Lakes Region Senior Center members and guests will enjoy a catered buffet of turkey and pasta, salad, potato, stuffing, gravy, veggies, desserts and beverage. Carol singing will follow with games, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing. Members are encouraged to invite guests. Christmas Fair
A “Made in Maine” Christmas Fair will be held on Dec. 7 and 8 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Roosevelt Trail. Hours are 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 8 and 11:30 a.m.-1:20 p.m. on Dec. 8. Gift baskets, baked goods, raffles for museum visits, restaurants, spas, theater, vintage quilt and a furnished dollhouse. Breakfast and lunch available; homemade food to go.
Chamber Singers Concert
Tickets are on sale at www.windhamchambersingers.com, for the annual “An American Family Holiday,” Saturday, Dec. 7, at Windham Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $10-$30, and the concert features the Windham Chamber Singers, Ashley Liberty, Daniel Strange and Norm Lewis.
Open House
Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals invites all Lakes Region Weekly readers to the Annual Christmas Open House for the Animals on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At 279 River Road you will find trees for sale, seasonal treats and drinks, raffle items, kids’ activities, gifts for animals and free sleigh rides from J. Stuff the Bus
The Windham Lions annual Stuff the Bus event will be held Dec. 7-8 at Hannaford Plaza in Windham from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Collections of non-perishable foods, money, toys and gift certificates will be for the families in Windham. The food pantry will distribute the food into holiday baskets for the Windham families that request help. They will also distribute the toys and gift certificates as well. Any money received will go directly to the Windham Food Pantry to purchase the hams and turkeys for the baskets.
