The Spring Point Ledge Light Trust invites the public to join them on the evening of Monday, Dec. 2, at 6 p.m. as Trust members turns on the holiday lights at the lighthouse.

Spring Point Ledge lighthouse is located on the breakwater at 1 Fort Road on the campus of Southern Maine Community College in South Portland. There is no admission charge and the event is open to the public.

The Trust’s ticket shed and gift shop will be open at 5:30 p.m. for members of the public.

Coffee, soft drinks, hot chocolate and snacks will be available. All proceeds from these sales go to protect, preserve, and promote the lighthouse.

Spring Point Ledge lighthouse was first lighted in 1897 and was acquired by the Trust, an all-volunteer organization, in 1998 under the Maine Lights Program.
