Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10643 will hold its annual Veterans Day Ceremony and Open House at the Windham Veterans Center at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. The public is invited and refreshments will be served following the event.

Guest speaker is retired General William Begert. Boy Scout Troop 805 will assist and the Windham Chamber Singers will perform patriotic songs.

Winners of this year’s essay contest will be introduced. The theme this year for the Voice of Democracy contest for grades 9-12 is, “Why I am optimistic about our nation’s future,” and the theme for the Patriots Pen contest for younger grades is, “What Patriotism means to me.”

Windham Veterans Center is located at the end of Memorial Drive, next to Friendly’s. Follow all the way to the end – watch for the signs.
