Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine, serving youth in Cumberland and York counties, is accepting applications from men and women interested in being a volunteer Big Brother or Big Sister. “Bigs” are adult friends and role models for children who need additional support and guidance. A match is made based on the volunteer’s and child’s needs, preferences, interests and hobbies. The program allows some flexibility with scheduling and requires a one-year commitment. If you’d like to help one of the 25 children currently on the waiting list to build a brighter future, take the first step and call Big Brothers Big Sisters at 773-KIDS or visit www.SoMeBigs.org.
