To the Editor:
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the two men who stopped and helped me in the early morning on Sunday, Sept. 29, near Washington Street in Bath when I had an accident with my wheelchair.
You are true “Good Samaritans.” Also, my greatest appreciation goes to the Bath Police Department for caring for my service dog while I was in the emergency department.
You all demonstrated such selfless kindness in a time of my great need. You deserve to be recognized by name; it is so unfortunate that you remain anonymous to me.
You know who you are, and I hope by some lucky chance you’ll read this and know how grateful I am to each of you.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
